Unfortunately, it can be difficult to find movie downloads online but there are some resources out there which are reliable and fast and also cost less than the other traditional options.
Even if you do find a site which sells movie downloads and is completely legal, there may be some grave shortcomings. The disadvantage is that you will often have will be poor quality recordings, slow download speeds or unreasonably high prices.
Perhaps the most popular place to download legal movies is iTunes but then some people do not like using the QuickTime player and want to be at liberty to use their own media player without having to be restricted. Nonetheless, this isn't a problem for most people so it is worth checking out before simply shrugging it off.
Firstly, you should not download pirated movies. Downloads that you download from the popular torrent sites often contain viruses or other forms of malicious software which a poster deliberately by the uses of such sites. Also, you will not be eligible for any technical support or upgrades and the future. In addition to this, quality is also very bad under most circumstances.
You can use iTunes and various other services to buy and download movies online. This tends to be considerably cheaper than walking into the high street store or buying them online in getting the company to deliver them to you by post. It is also much more convenient for many people and this is why it is becoming so popular.
The big problem is however, when it comes movie downloads, there really is not a big choice of resources. Until the movie companies actually do something about the problem, then piracy is going to continue to skyrocket and it is hard to blame the people who download pirated movies when there is no other choice in many cases but to go down to your high street store and hope that you can get what you want.
However, there are again exceptions so it is worth doing your research to make sure that you see some samples from the site in question or even some trailers. You will find that downloading high definition movies however, is generally not practical, even if you can find a site which sells them available for download. This is because they take up enormous amounts of file space and not only will you need a huge hard disk, but you will also need a lightning fast Internet connection.
Nonetheless, the convenience of being able to quickly download a DVD quality movie is a wonderful thing. You can simply decide what you want to watch tonight, pay for it and download it all in the space of an hour or so depending on your Internet connection.
Hopefully in the foreseeable future the movie companies will finally get their act together and start realising that downloading movies online is something that is in very high and increasing demand and if they want to stamp out piracy, then they're going to have to provide a viable alternative to attract their customers back.
