This is an amazing Japanese animated movie. It is written by Katsuhiro Otomo Akira, based on a visual novel by Osamu Tezuka called Astro Boy. Rich backdrops balance with cartoon looking lead characters, although dramatic storytelling and commanding visuals defeat film's shortcomings. Cast includes Kei Kobayashi, Kohki Okada, Taro Ishida, and Kousei Tomita. (106 minutes, 2001)
See you in the Morning: Bridges and Krige follow a difficult journey to a second matrimony for both of them, trying to delete poor memories and lingering complications and having to triumph over each other's youngsters. Overall knowledge, warmth, and gentility are expressed in this relationship film. Cast includes Jeff Bridges, Alice Krige, Farrah Fawcett, Linda Lavin, Drew Barrymore, and Robin Bartlett. Lots of gore for the fans, as the sufferers race time as a fatal gas fills their lungs. Wahlberg is the lead cop on the case. Can he match brains with this twisted madman? Cast includes Darren Lynn Bousman, Donnie Wahlberg, Shawnee Smith, Tobin Bell, Frank G. Glenn Plummer, Dina Meyer, Emmanuel Vaugier, Beverley Mitchel, Erik Knudsen, and Tim Burd. (102 minutes, 2006)
The Barretts of Wimpole Street: Handsome, well-performed, and most amusing MGM production of classic romance between Elizabeth Barrett and Robert Browning in 19th century England. Director Franklin redid this 2 years later. Cast includes Norma Shearer, Fredric March, Charles Laughton, and Ian Wolfe. (110 minutes, 1934)
Airplane: Extremely ludicrous spoof of Airport with a nonstop amount of gags that keeps up almost to the end. Our top choice: the bizarre plight of Lt. Hurwitz. Dinosaur: Disney tale of a dinosaur brought up by a family of lemurs. A meteor strike on the Earth presents her with other dangers. Cast includes Ossie Davis, Max Casella, Hayden Panettiere, Samuel E Wright, Julianna Margulies, Peter Siragusa, and Joan Plowright. (82 minutes, 2000)
Peter Pan Return To Neverland: An animated family film of a Peter Pan adventure. Wendy's daughter Jane is an unbeliever. When Captain Hook steals her away to Neverland, she must learn to believe if she wants to escape back to the real world.
Saw: Two men are trapped in a room. Both men are chained to their half of the room. A story unfolds as these two people are given clues and information about the situation they are in and why. Can they solve the puzzle and get out alive?
